How it Works

Records within CompuCal can be electronically viewed or printed from within the CompuCal environment.

In addition the records and reports can be exported to industry standard electronic forms such as Word, HTML, Excel and PDF.

Using the CompuCal application these records can also be sent via email as an attachment.

CompuCal has a full audit trail with viewer, export and print utilities for the administrator. The audit trail is the one central place to track all modifications to the database. These include the following operations:

  1. Add object
  2. Update object – before and after values are retained and date / time stamped
  3. Delete / Remove object
  4. Login information – user log-in, electronic signature, failed signature

The audit trail includes the date and time of the event, the type of action, the identity of the user who took the action, and if a record was modified, the fields changed and the old and new values.

The audit trail can be queried to produce reports in a variety of ways including by operator name, action, modules, tag no. or Calibration work order no. etc.

NOTE: The audit trail is completely secure and CANNOT be edited.

Audit Trail Workflow

CompuCal enforces a workflow with predefined sequenced steps and tasks.

A CompuCal implementation will include the definition of the appropriate steps. If a field is mandatory the record cannot be saved until the data is entered into that field.

CompuCal tracks all electronic signatures made through the user interface. The following are recorded in the Audit Trail:

  1. The printed name of the signer
  2. The time and date of the action taken and the time/date stamp of the execution of the electronic signature
  3. The meaning of the electronic signature (enter, verify, change)
  4. The old and new values when a change has been made

The administrator can view or print a report through the CompuCal Audit Trail. The maintenance history records show the electronic signatures associated with the calibrations.

The Audit trail is managed in a secure database.

Electronic Signature

CompuCal’s administrator sets up all user accounts and permissions. They can control access to all operations within CompuCal, including entry into the system, calibration, administration and configuration modules.

CompuCal requires a user name and password to gain entry and to electronically sign for any actions. The client can configure requirements for electronic signature.

As an extra layer of security password expiration ensures that the user must periodically change his/her password.

The audit trail will record all actions a user takes with the CompuCal system, including successful and unsuccessful entry to the system or password failure.

The CompuCal administrator will know by viewing the Audit Trail if an illegal attempt has been made to enter CompuCal or if a failed password has been detected.
